Curriculum
At this stage it is imperative to have your child enrolled in a high quality educational program. That is why at Sonshine Preschool, we put top priority on a low teacher to student ratio, allowing children to receive more individualized attention. Children are exposed to basic math and a phonics based pre-reading program. Emphasis is on having fun and receiving lots of praise while exploring our hands-on learning activities.

    • Pre-Kindergarten Classes
    Our classes are for 3, 4, & 5 year olds. The curriculum is designed to further advance math and reading skills to a higher level in a play-based atmosphere. We provide fun, yet challenging activities allow your child to develop the independence and confidence needed to take that first ride on the school bus to kindergarten.

    Here is an example of a typical day at Sonshine School

    9:00 12:30 Children arrive, chose Learning Center activities (i.e. Art, Science/Nature, Home Living, Language Arts, etc)
    9:20 12:50 Clean-up
    9:25 12:55 Group time (theme, art activity, skills, music, etc)
    9:35 1:05 Large muscle play (indoor or outdoor)
    10:00 1:30 Restroom, wash-up, snack
    10:30 2:00 Group time (academic instruction, stories, special presentations)
    11:00 2:30 Learning centers (children chose activity)
    11:20 2:50 Clean-up, songs or games
    11:30 3:00 Parents arrive
